Jiangnan University and Hosid Health Technology have jointly launched a new project for the creation of health functional foods.

       On April 22, 2025, Jiangnan University and Shenzhen Huashide Health Technology Co., Ltd. jointly launched a new project for the creation of health functional foods in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. Leaders from the School of Food Science and Technology of Jiangnan University, the research and development project team, and representatives of Huashide Company were all present. Both sides, with the deep integration of industry, academia, and research as the bond, are jointly writing a new chapter in the development of the health industry.

At the launch meeting, Fu Lili, the Party Secretary of the School of Food Science and Technology of Jiangnan University, delivered the opening speech, comprehensively introducing the school's strong capabilities: Jiangnan University's food science program ranks first in China and is renowned worldwide. The school has 7 national-level research platforms, including the State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Technology (the only state key laboratory based on food science), the National Engineering Research Center for Functional Foods, and the Joint Research Center of State Key Laboratories for Food Enterprises. It also has a world-class pilot plant and an advanced analysis and testing platform. In terms of faculty resources, the school has dozens of national-level talents such as academicians, Changjiang Scholars, National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and experts in the Ten Thousand Talents Program, as well as a high-level teaching staff led by a team of doctoral students. Secretary Fu Lili expressed her hope that through this cooperation, the school's scientific research accumulation and Huashide Company's industrial resources can be deeply integrated, converting the cutting-edge functional food creation technology into health products that benefit the public, and contributing to the "Healthy China" strategy with the strength of the university.

        Ms. Liang, the general manager of Hosid Health Technology, stated that the company has always adhered to the concept of "Technology safeguards health, innovation drives the future", integrating high-quality resources at home and abroad to build a diversified health product matrix and form a full-cycle health management closed loop of "prevention - management - intervention". The strong alliance between the company and Jiangnan University marks the strategic upgrade of the deep integration of industry, academia, and research. It is believed that through the close cooperation of both sides, a synergy effect of 1+1>2 will be generated, and a safe, effective, and high-quality functional food will be developed, bringing a new health experience to consumers.

Professor Zhang Lianfu, a doctoral supervisor from the School of Food Science and Technology of Jiangnan University and the project's research and development leader, comprehensively and meticulously introduced the background, concept, technical advantages, and significance of the project's establishment. Professor Zhang has been engaged in the research and development of food and medicine with the same origin and functional foods for many years, with rich academic accumulation and scientific research achievements. He pointed out that the number of people in sub-health is increasing, and among them, the proportion of young people aged 30-45 is large. At the same time, more and more people are beginning to pay attention to health preservation, and the demand for health preservation is showing a trend of "complexity" and "visible efficacy". The demand for functional foods from consumers is increasing. The project will focus on this market pain point, and through precise scientific formulas and advanced food processing techniques, develop an innovative health food that integrates nutrition and function, to help improve the health level of the nation.

 The launch meeting concluded with a group photo of all the attendees. This cooperation marks the deep integration of university scientific research strength and enterprise industrial resources. Both sides will take the launch meeting as a starting point to jointly promote the research and development of health foods, unlock new scenarios of precise nutrition, and provide consumers with a new health choice of "scientific formula + multiple functions".
